State budgets are shrinking and economic pressures continue to make life difficult for state and local governments. To make ends meet, states rely more and more on federal funds to implement telecommunications solutions. Grant programs, such as E-rate, the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG), the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), and the USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant (DLT), provide millions to state and local agencies to improve distance learning, communications, and emergency preparedness. Polycom monitors grant and funding sources and offers consultation and grant writing support for customers needing assistance with these programs.

We work closely with you throughout the application process to help ensure a successful outcome using a team approach. Your team includes a Polycom Territory Manager, an Area Grant Manager, a Grant Coordinator, your organization's Contact Captain, and, if you have none available in-house, a grant writer or Grant Expert.

Once a funding source has been identified, your qualified Grant Expert will provide your Contact Captain with an explanation of the overall process. Your organization's roles and responsibilities will be described, and your Grant Expert will plan the activities needed to complete the application process, implementing these activities when appropriate.

Once the grant application is assembled, your Grant Expert will submit it to the appropriate organization. Approval of your grant application results in funding to implement or improve your video communications technology immediately. You will realize access to unlimited advances in collaboration and training.
