Solution Description

Blue Coat's ProxySG Mach5® WAN Optimization solution helps Polycom customers meet and deliver the streaming media or on-demand video performance for global users. By applying the right mix of acceleration capabilities such as bandwidth management, stream-splitting, protocol optimization and byte caching, Blue Coat helps Polycom's customers optimize their existing network bandwidth to ensure users have the highest quality experience. The combined Polycom and Blue Coat solution provides efficiency, security, visibility, and control through the total content lifecycle. It gives users a more effective training or communications experience by fast, reliable content delivery to their desktops. The joint solution is designed to scale transparently and serve growing audiences.

Blue Coat® PacketShaper® solution optimizes Polycom videoconferencing sessions by alleviating chronic network congestion, jitter and packet loss that diminish video quality at the LAN/WAN boundary. The solution provides granular control and reporting through automatic measurement, monitoring and control of quality of service (QoS) for each video-conferencing session.
