Polycom Announces Industry Networking and Telecom Veteran Joe Sigrist to Lead Network Systems

Phil Keenan, Former Network Systems General Manager, Becomes Senior Vice President of Strategy

PLEASANTON, Calif. - Apr 04, 2006 : Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the world's leading provider of unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced that industry veteran Joe Sigrist has joined the company as senior vice president and general manager of Network Systems at Polycom. Sigrist is responsible for leading product development, product management and marketing, and integration for Polycom's market-leading voice and video bridges and network infrastructure software. He will report to Bob Hagerty, Chairman and CEO, and work in company headquarters in Pleasanton.

The company also announced today that Phil Keenan, a video industry veteran of 12 years and former senior vice president and general manager of Network Systems, will assume the new role of senior vice president of strategy at Polycom, reporting to Bob Hagerty. As head of strategy, Keenan is responsible for driving strategic positioning and corporate messaging, customer solutions, supporting go to market programs, business development, and integration efforts with Polycom Alliance Partners.

Sigrist is a twenty year industry veteran of networking and telecommunications companies with experience in both the enterprise and service provider markets, having held senior executive, product management and engineering positions with Lucent Technologies, Ascend Communications and Octel Communications. Most recently he was CEO of Hammerhead Systems, a networking startup.

As president and general manager of the Edge Access Division at Lucent, Sigrist drove Lucent's voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) strategy for softswitches, media gateways and servers, as well as Lucent's dial access servers and ATM access systems to worldwide service providers. During his tenure at Lucent, he was responsible for over 1,200 employees and revenues that exceeded $1.5 billion. As director of product management for Lucent's Enterprise Division, he was responsible for the combined voice messaging product portfolios from Lucent' s Business Communications Systems division (now Avaya) and Octel's enterprise group. At Ascend, which was acquired by Lucent, he was vice president of product management for their industry leading dial access servers. At Octel, he had product marketing and engineering responsibility for products sold to enterprise customers, the company's largest segment. Sigrist holds a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, also from Santa Clara University.
